Listening or Ignoring?

At a club in Serbia, CEF workers were holding an outdoor Good News Club. While this setting is a wonderful opportunity to reach children, it can also bring challenges with attention and discipline.

One day, a worker called out,
“Kids, can you hear me?”

They wanted to see how well the children truly understood what they were learning from God’s Word, so they asked:

“How can we be saved? By going to church? Just by praying? Or by helping others?”

Suddenly, a quiet girl—one who rarely draws attention to herself—spoke up boldly:

“No! Only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!”

She is 11 years old and attends the clubs regularly. Her response deeply touched the workers. To witness God’s truth alive in a child’s heart is a gift beyond measure. They thanked the Lord for opening children’s hearts to understand the way of salvation.

Afterward, the team took out the lesson booklets and involved the children in reading. As they read about what Jesus did for us on the cross, one girl said:

“It’s important to know how to read, because through the Bible, God speaks to us.”

The workers were overwhelmed with gratitude to the Lord for hearing such deep truth spoken through the mouths of children.

It is so encouraging when God allows us to see the fruit of ministry and what He is doing—strengthening us to keep going.
Please pray with us for the work across Serbia.
