Across France this summer, children gathered in camps, clubs, and campsites — and many met Jesus for the first time. Here is a glimpse of what God has been doing.
Children choosing to follow Jesus
At one summer camp, a leader taught a group of 29 children alongside a strong team, and several children were touched by what they heard. At another, a worker welcomed a small group of children and had the privilege of counselling two young girls one-on-one — the smaller numbers meant deeper care.
One camp stood out for who came: of 24 very engaged children, a third were from non-Christian families. Every one of them asked for a Bible to take home.
Reaching families who don’t yet know Him
A worker led a week-long camp for around 50 children aged 4 to 15, teaching the life of David across three age groups. At another gathering built around the theme of service, 35 children took part, and several chose to position their lives for the Lord. Camps became places where children didn’t just have fun — they discovered the gospel and responded to it.
Equipping the next generation of teachers
This summer wasn’t only about children. Training courses ran through July, and five new women teachers are now ready to prepare and validate their own training. One of them will help launch a new teachers’ course this autumn. As one worker put it, “the training was a rich time of encouragement and growing in the Lord”.
Growing the work online
The French Wondersurf site, CliqueLaVie.com, celebrated abundant blessings over the summer, with fresh daily content and a new audio series launched successfully. The team gives thanks for a dedicated group of developers and prays the site will help more French-speaking children across the world hear the gospel and grow in faith.
A reflection
A worker involved in the summer training prayed that what had been sown would bear fruit — that skills and encouragement received would be put to work for God’s kingdom, so that more children in France and beyond could walk along the path of faith and discover God’s love.
That prayer captures the whole season. We may not see every harvest, but God does. “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:7)
Please keep praying with us as the autumn clubs and courses begin — that the seeds sown this summer would take deep root.
