Meet Vilijam, CEF Europe Digital Ministry Director –
“Have you ever felt stuck when someone asked, “Who are you?” Growing up as a “preacher’s kid” in a small village felt both like a blessing and a burden. My peers often called me “Baptist” instead of my real name. But identity matters. Who we are shapes our thoughts, actions, and future.
At fourteen, I received Christ as my personal Saviour. Until then, I thought I was a “good kid” who didn’t need repentance—I never did anything dramatic. Though I drifted at times, at nineteen I made a deeper commitment to follow Christ. This decision was important.
I always felt called to “something more.” When my wife Tabita and I received an invitation to join Child Evangelism Fellowship® in 2013, we faced a crossroads: What did God want, versus what we wanted? Ministry life felt uncertain. But God encouraged me through Joshua 1:9: “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Tabita and I joined CEF as office workers. I also worked with teenagers, thinking, “Lord, I’ve found my place.” But in 2019, CEF Europe leadership challenged me to join the IT department. Technology was my passion, yet this role felt completely new. Amazingly, God encouraged me again through the same Joshua passage, spoken by a coworker.
Today, leading Digital Ministry is an incredible privilege. Currently, CEF Europe reaches 1.5% of children annually. Why does this matter? Right now, children around us are shaping their identity through YouTube, TikTok, Instagram. Digital ministry can be our tool to reach millions with the Gospel.
We don’t want to keep children on their phones—they’re already there. We want to meet them where they are and shape their hearts for eternal values. From translating CEF’s U-nite resources to using platforms like Wondersurf, my heart burns to make God’s Word accessible to every child, wherever they are.
Let’s pray together for wisdom on how to provide digital tools that will shape children’s hearts and minds for eternal values.”
