Camp Nade (Hope)

This summer, I had the privilege of being part of Camp Nade not just once, but twice. Camp Nade is a special place where children with special needs come together with their families, and where love, joy, and the presence of God shine in extraordinary ways.

At these camps, I had the opportunity to lead workshops for children with autism, Down’s syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and developmental delays. Every session was unique and full of challenges but also full of moments that deeply touched my heart.

Even though these children face many limitations, I quickly realised that I also have limitations. Teaching, communicating, and connecting with them required me to be humble, patient, and dependent on God’s help. In every moment, I was reminded that I cannot do this work in my own strength. I needed His love, wisdom, patience, and strength to serve well.

One of the most beautiful truths I witnessed is that, despite physical or mental limitations, these children have a spiritual need just like all of us. They, too, need to hear the Gospel of Jesus, to know His love, and to believe in Him. Sharing the message of Christ with them felt like both a great responsibility and a great privilege.

What encouraged me most was seeing their attention and openness during Bible lessons. The way they listened and responded reminded me that the Word of God can truly reach every heart.
