A Dream, a Song, and a Changed Heart

children sitting listening

A boy woke one morning and told his mother about a dream. God was sending people to the park, he said — people who would tell him about Jesus.

God speaks to a family

It happened during a week-long Holiday Bible Club. One family with three children came along, and God began to work among them.

The mother did not take the dream seriously at first. She thought it was a child’s imagination. But later that same day, she heard singing drifting up from the park. She went to the window and listened. The song was about Jesus.

She dressed the children quickly and hurried down to the park. Standing there, she realised God had spoken to her child.

At the end of the programme she found one of the leaders and told her everything. She said she now understood that God has a plan for their family. She wants them all to seek God together and to start attending church.

Let us pray that this family will keep seeking God, grow stronger in faith, and take steps towards Him.

A child’s heart changed at camp

A nine-year-old boy came to camp that summer. Before he went, his older brother would tease him, and he always fought back — arguing, saying hurtful things, sometimes hitting.

After camp, something was different. When his brother made fun of him again, the boy answered: “You’re lucky I went to camp, because there I learned not to respond to evil with evil.”

His mother overheard the whole conversation. She told us, “God changed my child’s heart at camp.” Then she asked whether she could send her other child next time.

God’s Word is beginning to change how one child behaves. And that change is reaching his mother’s heart too.

Let us pray he stays steadfast in the Lord’s ways, and that what he learned becomes a way of life.

A volunteer finds her voice

One volunteer sent us a few words that encouraged us greatly:

“I am very grateful for today. I saw so many smiles, and that is why I smiled all day too. I felt God’s love and had the opportunity to meet people who are full of His love. I learned many things, including words I had never used before. Now I no longer feel nervous when I have to speak. Today I truly experienced what it means that ‘God works through people too,’ and this helps me so much to draw closer to God. Thank you for this joy-filled day!”

We pray God gives her strength, peace and courage. May He keep her close, and help her keep trusting even when circumstances are painful and hard to understand. May she know His presence, and know she is not alone.

Let us pray God keeps working in every volunteer and leader, using us as His hands, voice and heart for the children we meet.

God works in many different ways

Summer passed quickly, but it left behind many proofs of God’s grace. Looking back, we can say with grateful hearts: God was at work.

He worked through His Word, through prayer, through children, through volunteers and leaders. He sent people exactly where they were needed. Sometimes He works in ways we expect. Sometimes He works in ways we never saw coming. But He always works with a purpose.

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

Keep praying for these families, these children, and these volunteers. God is not finished with any of them.
