A Club That Won’t Take a Summer Break

In a one of the Eastern European countries, the name CEF has become associated with quality education. That reputation opens doors — and this spring, several of them swung wide open.

Speaking to Hundreds of Young People

A large youth conference invited our workers to attend, and we brought along some teenagers from our weekly teen club. It was a blessed time. We introduced the CEF mission to hundreds of young people who are only now weighing a serious commitment to God.

We shared about the many areas of our ministry. Who knows — perhaps we spoke with future missionaries or children’s workers that day. What we do know is this: many of these young people will minister to children at camps this year. Praise God for the opportunity.

Training the Next Generation of Leaders

In May, we ran a training for youth leaders in camp and children’s ministry. More than 25 people completed a certified course on child psychology and sharing the Gospel with children through camp. Every one of them left better equipped to point a child to Christ.

Older Teens Teaching Younger Ones

In September, we’ll split the club into two groups — older and younger teens. We want the older ones helping to teach the younger ones. That way they learn, first-hand, to carry out the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Kids Who Refused a Holiday

But here’s what moved us most. Despite summer and holidays, the kids have no plans to pause. They asked to keep studying the Bible without a break — even after attending every Saturday, all year round. Right now we’re studying the kings of Israel, and they’ve grown curious about Bible chronology too.

Almost every member of the club has already trusted the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Some have joined a church and been baptised. Our own son is on that list, and we watch him grow in Christ a little more each day.

Please pray for these young people, for the friendships forming through the club, and for a new generation learning to hand the Gospel on to the next.
