Summer began the way it always does — with celebration, then training, then hitting the road.
Our team kicked off the season with Children’s Day. Next came camp training, then an open-air outreach in one of our village communities in Moldova. Everything pointed toward camp. But the funding we’d hoped for didn’t come through.
Starting With Almost Nothing
We could have let that stop us. Instead, we started camp with 48 lei in the account — barely enough to open the doors. What followed wasn’t caution. It was provision. By the end, 150 children had come to camp. They heard the Gospel and experienced God’s love firsthand.
A Harvest Years in the Making
One story stayed with us. A man who’d attended this same camp as a boy came back to tell us, “This is where I learned to pray to God.” He’s a father of five now. Out of gratitude, he gave money so the children at camp could have ice cream.
That’s fruit you don’t plant and pick in the same season. Someone sowed the Word in that boy years ago, not knowing what it would grow into. Now he’s giving back to the next generation hearing that same Gospel. Galatians 6:9 says it plainly: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
We started this summer with 48 lei. We ended it watching seed sown years ago bear fruit in front of us. Would you join us in thanking God for His provision — and pray He keeps doing this in the children hearing the Gospel for the first time this year?
