Children, Questions, and the Greatest Story

open tomb

The events surrounding the death of the Lord Jesus prompt us to pause, quiet our hearts, and read the Gospels again. In that spirit, we want to share a few testimonies from Easter.

This year’s Easter lesson was “The Greatest Story”, which we tell the children using a picture puzzle. We visited several schools and kindergartens to share the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection — and what it means for us today.

Honest questions from open hearts

It was wonderful to see the children thinking deeply. In one school group, the questions came one after another:

“Why did they have to pierce Jesus’ hands?”

“After He rose from the dead, didn’t Jesus die again?”

“Where is Heaven?” “How will we be able to go there?”

We always welcome questions like these, and we try to answer them simply, straight from the Bible.

A preschool touched by prayer

At one public preschool, a quiet revival has been underway for some time. A group of parents meets weekly to pray for the children and teachers there. Around 28 children came to the Easter session and listened with great attention.

When we spoke about how Jesus is preparing a place in Heaven for those who believe in Him, one child said, “I don’t want to die.” We gently opened the Word together and explained why it matters to trust in the Lord Jesus. We closed in prayer, and God’s presence felt very near.

That evening, a parent sent this message: “I don’t know whom to thank for today’s session, but please pass on my gratitude — it really impacted my little boy. And thank you for the little gift!” Praise the Lord — He is still at work today.

Thanks be to the Lord, who works in such wonderful ways. We were once dead in our sins, but “He raised us to life with Him, forgiving us all our sins” (Colossians 2:13).

Please keep praying for these children, their families, and the workers walking alongside them.
