Two Hearts, One Yes

Rooted in Ministry

Some callings don’t arrive with a clear roadmap. For a young couple in Serbia, it came quietly — through a summer camp, a set of drums, a prayer shared before they even knew where God was leading.

Both grew up serving in their local church. Ministry wasn’t something they fell into. It was simply woven into who they were.

Prepared Over Years

For the wife, that thread runs especially deep. As a child, she heard the gospel at a CEF camp and gave her life to Christ there. At 12, she started volunteering — the youngest on the team every summer, returning year after year. “The Lord has been preparing me for 10 years,” she reflects.

Meanwhile, her husband found his footing through music. Late rehearsals in a Christian band, songs of praise, gifts being shaped in the quiet. Even then, he knew — if he could choose, he’d spend his whole life in service.

The Hard Yes

So when they got engaged and the call came — full-time ministry with CEF in Serbia — it didn’t arrive alone. Good opportunities appeared alongside it. Stable. Secure. Financially comfortable. But they knew those weren’t theirs to take.

After two years of prayer, their answer was yes. “Our life became a life of testimonies,” they share. “We can’t even count how many ways the Lord took care of us when we put our trust in Him.”

What’s Ahead

Now settled in a region of Serbia with one of the smallest Christian populations in the country, they’re stepping into something new. She’s serving children and young people locally, and through music. He’s helping build a digital ministry — meeting children where they already are, on smartphones and social media. Together, they’re working toward teenage meetings in the city, walking alongside young people through the years that matter most.

And there’s more to come — a digital studio to build, a youth space to equip, and a six-week training course at the CEF Institute in Romania this summer.

Ready to Be Used

Through it all, they’re holding everything with open hands. “The Lord is the one who can reach the hearts of children,” they say. “We are just tools in His hands, ready to let Him use us.”

That kind of surrender is worth praying for — and praying with.
