A Craft That Goes Home and Keeps Teaching

This simple craft gives children a visual way to think about how they spend their time — and they can take a reminder home with them. Target age: 6–12

What You’ll Need

• Paper plates or printed clock templates
• Crayons or markers
• Stickers
• Glue and scissors

How to Do It

1. Hand out the clock faces: Give each child a clock face divided into 4 or 6 sections.

2. Talk it through together: Ask, “God gives us 24 hours every day. Which parts should we use to please Him?” Let the children share their ideas before moving on.

3. Colour and label each section: Guide the children to colour their clock using three categories:

• 🟢 Green — Time that pleases the Lord: praying, reading the Bible, helping family, being kind
• 🟡 Yellow — Necessary time: school, eating, sleeping
• 🔴 Red — Wasted time: too much screen time, laziness, arguing

4. Decorate and make a promise: Children add stickers, then write one personal promise on their clock: “This week I will use my time to please Jesus by…”

5. Close with prayer: Thank God together for the gift of time and ask Him to help each child use it well.

6. Send them home: Include a note for parents – “Ask your child how they will redeem the time this week!”
