Psalm 118 is a hymn of praise and thanksgiving for the deliverance granted by the Lord to His people. The psalmist, having gone through deep affliction, recognises that the victory achieved was a direct intervention from God, a manifestation of His faithfulness, not the result of human merit. The heart’s response is one of reverent worship: “It is marvellous in our eyes.”
As we look back on what took place during the Summer Camps in Vendas Novas, we identify with the psalmist’s words. We can only affirm that all this is the Lord’s doing. From the preparation to the very moments with the campers, we saw the Lord guiding, sustaining, and working in ways far beyond our abilities and expectations.
It is with great joy that we share with you some of the things the Lord has done. He gave us a team that served with joy and wholehearted commitment, united in a single purpose. The teaching of Scripture was, as always, faithful and consistent, bearing fruit in the hearts, as evidenced by these comments:
- “It was the best week of the year!”
- “I’ve been in so many camps, but never heard so much about God!”
- “I learnt the importance of memorising Bible verses and I managed to memorise four! I never thought I could!”
- “For the first time in my life, I did a devotional every day.”
Simple words, yet they reveal the work of God in the hearts of these campers. To Him be all the glory!
We are truly grateful for faithful and ongoing prayer support, which enables this ministry to move forward with faithfulness to the Lord and fruit for His glory.
