Lockhart, Ruth

I gave my life to Christ when I was 11 years old when a CEF worker was teaching at our National School. But I didn’t go on with the Lord from that time. When I was 18 a friend invited me to attend The Faith Mission Convention in Edinburgh. Following this Convention I gave my life back to the Lord and began to be involved in church activities – Sunday School and Good News Club. With this I began to grow in my faith.

In 2003 I was working as a child minder but I felt the Lord asking me to serve Him full time. I wasn’t sure how this would be as I was not a very public person. I didn’t like to be speaking to people in large groups. I attended The Faith Mission Bible College for 2 years, after finishing College worked with the mission for 2 years in the North East of England. The work was mainly with small groups (England is a very needy country spiritually). I then moved back to the college in Edinburgh where I worked for 1 year. The Lord then lead me to do the ‘Children’s Ministry Leadership Course’ with Child Evangelism Fellowship at Kilchzimmer. While I was doing this 3 month course I learned of a need for workers at Kilchzimmer. I returned for 2 years as a volunteer when I helped in the house and kitchen.

At the beginning of 2011 I was accepted as a full time worker with CEF. My job here at Kilchzimmer is varied. I work mainly at the reception and when needed in the house and kitchen.
