Ballou, Sonja (Kitchen)

I had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home on a dairy farm in Vermont, USA. My parents sent me to a bible camp, where I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior at the age of 8.

After my school years I went for 2 years to a Bible College in Michigan, which proved to be a good preparation for my years of Christian service ahead.

I served the Lord as a short term missionary with CEF, after which I came to Kilchzimmer as a volunteer in 1989. At this time I was asked to do some housekeeping and do the laundry.

In autumn of that same year I was asked to come back to Kilchzimmer, this time as a fulltime staff member.

I continued in the laundry until September 2005, after which I was asked to take charge of the kitchen as cook. I take care of the meals for staff and guests, as well as the students that are here for the last six months of the year.

I consider it a privilege and a joy to serve the Lord in this way.
